5.5.10 8am Wildlife Tour
Today was my first solo wildlife tour.  I had an awesome guest who is here for the Robotics Convention.  The weather was gorgeous as we made our way down the Turnagain Arm, with wispy cirrus clouds in a bright blue sky providing an excellent backdrop to the stark snow white Chugach and Kenai mountain ranges.  It was low tide at Beluga Point, so there were no whales to be seen, but as we turned around we noticed dozens of speck-like mountain goats climbing around on the craggy Chugach peaks.  The Portage Valley showcased several examples of different avalanches, and after visiting the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, we saw over a dozen eagles on our way back to Anchorage.  What a beautiful morning!
