Meet Candice

Candice was born and raised in South Central Alaska. Growing up an hour outside of Anchorage provided her with ample opportunity to explore the great outdoors. With a family full of pilots, exploring was always the order of the day. Flying, camping, fishing, boating, and hiking are on her list of well-enjoyed activities around the state.

After working for her family for several years traveling to native villages and forging relationships, Candice moved on to working on “the slope” in northern Alaska, gaining experience in the world of the oilfield. She then switched poles for a science support job on the continent of Antarctica. Returning from the bottom of the world, she then went to work for Holland America’s rail division in Anchorage and the idea for smaller, more personal tours was spawned. Growing up in the family business also provided Candice with the entrepreneurial spirit that led to starting Salmon Berry Tours in 2005. Since then building custom tours and finding out what really makes a trip special for her guests has been her focus, leading to some of Alaska’s most valuable experiences.

Meet Micah

Micah was born and raised in the Golden Heart City of Alaska: Fairbanks. Growing up in the Land of the Midnight Sun sure had its perks; especially during summer vacation for active youth interested in Alaskan standards such as camping and fishing, skiing and boarding.

As a junior in high school, she moved to Savoonga on St. Lawrence Island for one school year due to an opportunity for her parents (both school teachers) to teach in the “bush.” It was during this nine month stay in a remote village of four hundred people that she fell in love with the rich Alaska Native culture of the Siberian Yupik people.

Since then she has traveled all over the state to more than 20 villages with emphasis on her beloved Southeast villages including our state’s capital, Juneau, home of the Alaskan Brewing Co. Primarily living in the Interior and South Central all her life, Micah is now happily and permanently living in Anchorage, the largest city Alaska has to offer. More in love with the 49 th State than ever before, her first thoughts sprouted here of sharing this incredible state as Anchorage proved itself more and more as the perfect launch pad for the ultimate adventure in Alaska. Come experience the wilderness, culture, and livelihood, and share the passion for yourself!
