3-night Northern Lights Adventure

Let us introduce you to Anchorage, our beloved Northern Lights, and our favorite pastime, dog mushing!

This package gives you the inside look at Anchorage with a city tour with a complimentary pick up at the Ted Steven's airport and shuttle to your hotel. An optional add-on includes a scenic flightseeing tour which will get you started this first day of your exciting tour of Alaska! Explore the quaint town of Talkeetna, the inspiration for the hit series Northern Exposure! This unique town is where we will get lost in the beauty of the Alaskan sky with the Star Lady after we warm up with hot chocolate and pastries at the Roadhouse. The following morning we will get a hands-on experience with a professional dog mushers and his team of friendly four-legged athletes!

Itinerary

Day 1We will introduce you to the city with stops at Lake Hood, Earthquake Park, Bootleggers Cove, historic 4th Avenue and the port of Anchorage! After the tour, you will be taken to your hotel. Overnight Anchorage at one of our favorite Inns.

Day 2The day is yours in Anchorage. Explore the town using your Salmon Berry Tours provision bag! In there you will find a map of the city including a few of our favorites, already circled! Check out is at 11am, so have the hotel hold your luggage until we pick you up from the hotel at 7pm giving you enough time to get some shopping in and a nice lunch! We will pick you up at the hotel at 7pm and take you to Talkeetna. There we will set out to find the Aurora Borealis! A stop at the Talkeetna Roadhouse to lose the luggage and get warmed up with homemade pastries and hot chocolate will start our adventure in this quaint town. From the roadhouse, we will walk/snowshoe to the river where we will have the best view of the Northern Lights. Overnight Talkeetna.

Day 3We will make our way to enjoy Alaska’s favorite sport! This adventure is 2-1/2 hours of riding the runners, meeting the four-legged athletes, and plenty of time for pictures with the dogs and the trails these dogs call home. This experience is one to never forget! Dress warm and even warmer mushing attire will be provided for you. Your Salmon Berry Tours guide will provide you with transportation back into Anchorage with complimentary beverages and snacks for your scenic drive down one of the 7 Alaskan Highways. Overnight Anchorage with airport transfer.
