ITINERARY
Day 1
Travel Anchorage to Seward by train in the early morning today for an adventure down in Kenai Fjords National Park! Ride the rails on this 4-hour journey, following the scenic Turnagain Arm, passing by the ski town of Girdwood and the glacially carved valley of Portage until you reach the seaside town of Seward. A representative from Major Marine Cruises will be at the rail depot to pick you (and your luggage) up for the quick transfer to their harbor office for check in. Enjoy the 6-hour Kenai Fjords National Park Cruise which will also include an all-you-can-eat prime rib and salmon buffet served on board. Following your day cruise, check in to your overnight accommodations right there at the Harbor. Your overnight stay includes a standard room with a private bath.
Day 2
You have a free day in Seward to explore! Consider an adventure with our friends, the Seavey Family. Mitch Seavey, the 2004 and 2013 Iditarod Champion, opens his kennel to introduce visitos to the sport of dog sledding. The Seaveys are the original summer dog sledding exprience in Alaska providing guests with a kennel tour, a multi-media presentation about the Iditarod trail and a summer dog sled ride via modified cart! Their full day experience also includes lunch and a nature walk to view Exit Glacier. Other ideas while in Seward include a visit to the Alaska SeaLIfe Center, a self guided historical walking tour of Seward’s waterfront, 1/2 day fishing tour, or if you want to get back out on the water this morning, take another cruise in search for sealife!
This evening enjoy a return rail trip back into Anchorage, included in the package. (Ask us about an upgrade to GoldStar Service, for dome-topped rail car seating and a gourmet dinner included!)

Salmon Berry Travel & Tours recommends travel insurance provided by TravelSafe Insurance. Our recommendation is based on positive guest feedback. In particular, the experience of one Salmon Berry guest is instructive:
- Our guest had booked the vacation of a lifetime and the ultimate Alaska package. She had to cancel the trip a week before it began due to unfortunate circumstances.
- She later told us that within ten minutes of phone time her claim was processed in full. She was very pleased with TravelSafe Insurance’s immediate and empathetic response. Getting a refund for her trip was the last thing she wanted to think about, and TravelSafe Insurance took care of her needs and concerns immediately.
