About Our Day Tours
When you visit Alaska, you undoubtedly have numerous tours and experiences from which to choose. When you choose Salmon Berry, you are electing to embark on adventures that are genuine representations of the Alaskan wilderness, hospitality, and events. Though you are able to choose a theme for your tour (there’s more information on that below), our tours aren’t one-size-fits-all. We can tailor our trips to you, and we’re perfectly comfortable integrating your ideas into your vacation.
If you’re having trouble deciding what you want to do during your time in Alaska, you may be deciding between choosing a self-guided tour or a group tour from various companies. You may be stuck in the middle of wanting a flexible experience and not wanting to be left completely on your own. That’s where we come in: Take a look at the small group or private day trips we offer, and don’t forget to let us know if you have questions.
Nature Trails
Maybe you’ve heard about the beauty of the Alaskan wilderness, and you want to see a glacier up close. Or, perhaps you want to take in the sight of snow-capped mountains and ice-cold water. This type of trip is great for newcomers to Alaska and those simply wishing to recapture the beauty of their first visit to the area. Our nature-based tours will show off the beauty of our state and leave you wanting to return for more!
Cultural Explorations
It’s no secret that Alaska is home to a large indigenous population that much of its local culture is derived from. Take a day trip to the small town of Talkeetna or explore Anchorage’s — or perhaps your own — cultural heritage with a tour specifically geared toward celebrating the area’s Alaska native arts, athletics, and traditions.
If you wish to explore the area further, we offer a cultural tour of the city as well. Though you may not run into a musk ox in downtown Anchorage, you are sure to gain a thorough knowledge of the history of the city over the two-and-a-half-hour tour. You’ll also have easy access to the city’s best restaurants, cafes, and eateries for an after-tour lunch or dinner.
Animal Activities
Whether you have kids who would love to treat the Alaskan wilderness as their own personal zoo or if you’re just an animal enthusiast yourself, you’re in for a treat with our animal-based tours. Visit a musk ox farm or sign up for a comprehensive wildlife tour.
Maybe it’s dog sledding you’re interested in. After all, our state is famous for our cold winters, our sledding teams, and the dogs that champion the sport. If you’re daring, take a ride in a sled and learn how to navigate a team of dogs to “mush,” or take your own team of dogs through a forest near the small town of Talkeetna for a six-mile journey. After finishing this tour, you’ll feel like a real musher, and the best part is: You get to play with pups!
Cruise Ship Tours
If you’re in the middle of an Alaskan cruise, you may wish to take advantage of your downtime by transferring to another Alaskan port or city by way of a day tour. Take in the local sights, natural phenomena, and animal life over this seven-hour day tour, and then continue on your journey. This type of tour can accommodate up to ten people, so be sure to bring your family and friends.
Northern Lights
Fairbanks, Alaska, has been long known for hosting a few convenient viewing spots for the beautiful northern lights or the Aurora. Though we cannot guarantee a sighting, we can take you out in the best conditions possible and on the most promising nights. If it’s the Aurora you’re after on your Alaskan adventure, let us help you find it.
