Sea Kayaking - from short paddles to half-day trips, the Kenai Fjords Glacier Lodge team will show you into the waters of Kenai Fjords National Park. Whether you choose a casual paddle inside a protected lagoon, with glassy waters inhabited by curious sea otters and seals, or you wish to explore nearby waterfalls while gliding across the sea, the team at the Kenai Fjords Glacier Lodge will have the perfect option to meet your needs. For those with limited experience, or for families wishing to enjoy water sports together, there are group canoe paddles available. These group canoe paddles can accommodate up to 10+ guests. Many of our travelers like to mix-and-match activities to pair both canoeing and kayaking during their stay!

Hiking - Whether you call it hiking, trekking or walking, these guided hikes offer boundless options for outdoor enthusiasts seeking to explore nature in an up-close-and-personal way. Your guides hold permits to lead small groups of travelers on some of the most beautiful, remote trail systems. The team at the Kenai Fjords Glacier Lodge will share various trail system maps, terrain information and expected sights so you can choose the ideal hike option – be it casual (1-2 miles round trip), moderate (3-5 miles round trip) or challenging (5+ miles round trip). Hikes include varying levels of elevation gain, with opportunities to pass through several different ecosystems. Get ready to experience Alaska’s backcountry on these established trails, while learning about Alaska’s unique flora and fauna. It’s common to spot wildlife from a safe distance while on the trail, and the guided approach includes ample time to stop and smell the wildflowers, snap unforgettable photos and enjoy some trail snacks and a gourmet pack lunch.
