Begin this unique Alaska adventure as we drive north from Anchorage on the Glenn Highway Scenic Byway, we will pass through farmland that was colonized during the New Deal, now famous for growing record breaking produce like the 2,051-pound pumpkin!
We will visit the Musk Ox Farm, known as one of the most unique animal husbandry projects in the world, for up-close views of Musk Ox! The picturesque Colony farm began sixty years ago, is now home to a lively herd of over eighty musk oxen, from powerful bulls to frolicking calves. Meet Littleman, Medusa, Gouda and the others as we walk the pasture trails aside these fascinating Ice Age creatures to learn about their adaptations and place in the future of Alaska agriculture. You'll also have time to browse the Musk Ox Farm's gift shop for locally crafted gifts such as qiviut (Musk Ox wool, one of the most sought after fibers in the world)!
A delicious meal is included, provided by a locally owned and operated eatery, known for their farm-to-table style menu before we ascend the Talkeetna Mountains. As we enter the breathtaking alpine area known as Hatcher Pass, our destination is a local recreation area for a snowshoe stroll or hike (depending on weather conditions), with your local guide.

Our guest had booked the vacation of a lifetime and the ultimate Alaska package. She had to cancel the trip a week before it began due to unfortunate circumstances.
She later told us that within ten minutes of phone time her claim was processed in full. She was very pleased with TravelSafe Insurance's immediate and empathetic response. Getting a refund for her trip was the last thing she wanted to think about, and TravelSafe Insurance took care of her needs and concerns immediately.
