Today, we will experience Alaska’s favorite sport - dog sledding! Your Salmon Berry Tours guide will pick you up at your Anchorage hotel following check out and take you north into mushing country. This adventure includes the 1 hour twilight dog sled ride where each guest has a chance to ride the runners of the sled guided by a musher at Dallas Seavey Racing team. The tour at the kennel includes running the training trails on a guided dog sled ride, meeting the four-legged athletes, and touring the racing kennel. We allow plenty of time for pictures with the dogs. Be sure to dress warm! If needed, we will provide headlamps for an evening twilight mushing experience!
Your Salmon Berry Tours guide will provide you with transportation into Talkeetna where our northern lights search starts! Upon arrival into Talkeetna, enjoy dinner at the Twister Creek Restaurant with your fellow travelers. Overnight tonight at the Talkeetna Raodhouse, an authentic Alaska roadhouse built around 1917 during the construction of the Alaska Railroad. Guest rooms are private with bathrooms "down the hall" in typical roadhouse fashion. A visit with the Star Lady is a great way for travelers to understand the science behind the Alaska night sky and the aurora borealis phenomenon! From the historic Talkeetna Roadhouse, we will walk/snowshoe to the river's edge where we have the best view of the Northern Lights. Tonight, we go in search of the elusive aurora borealis!

Salmon Berry Tours recommends travel insurance provided by TravelSafe Insurance. Salmon Berry Tours is not affiliated with TravelSafe Insurance, nor do we offer any special discounts with them. Our recommendation is based on positive guest feedback. In particular, the experience of one Salmon Berry Tours guest is instructive:
Our guest had booked the vacation of a lifetime and the ultimate Alaska package. She had to cancel the trip a week before it began due to unfortunate circumstances.
She later told us that within ten minutes of phone time her claim was processed in full. She was very pleased with TravelSafe Insurance's immediate and empathetic response. Getting a refund for her trip was the last thing she wanted to think about, and TravelSafe Insurance took care of her needs and concerns immediately.
