Choose your day of adventure in Talkeetna with one of the six following activities...

1) Denali Flightseeing with Glacier Landing (April-September) - $575 per person

After the scenic van tour from Anchorage, and lunch in Talkeetna, you will take to the skies and get a birds-eye view of the landscape of Denali National Park and Mt. Denali! This one-hour bush-plane experience gives everyone a window seat to the grandeur of Denali (formerly Mt. McKinley): the tallest mountain on North America! A real Alaskan bush pilot will tell you about the area as you soar over glaciers, the Don Sheldon amphitheater, intense blue meltwater pools, and the Great Gorge of the Ruth Glacier.  Conditions permitting, your pilot will land you on a glacier!

2) Jet Boat with Nature Walk (May 15th-September 15th) - $275 per person

Your 2-hour jet tour will begin aboard an enclosed jet boat, as it whisks you into the heart of the wilderness in comfort. As you travel twenty miles of river wilderness, your Naturalist will talk about the rivers in the area, as well as information about Mt Denali. You will have opportunities to view nesting bald eagles and beavers who seem to work every hour that the long light of summer provides.

Upon arriving at our adventure site, we’ll take a leisurely ¼-mile nature walk to a Dena'ina Indian Encampment. The Dena’ina have lived in these lands since time immemorial. Then it’s off to an authentic trapper’s cabin with original furnishings. Learn how early trappers in this region lived in "Bush" Alaska at the turn of the century. Your experienced guide will display furs from the local area and demonstrate trapping methods. Naturalists will also acquaint you with the wildflowers and plants that grow in abundance along the river system and you’ll learn about the edible plants that were used by the Dena’ina for cooking and medicine. Bring along your camera and comfortable walking shoes for this very special Alaskan adventure.

3) Zipline Canopy Adventure (May 27th-September 25th) - $349 per person

Ziplining offers a thrilling and educational way to experience breathtaking natural scenery and our awesome Alaska wilderness. From our “South Side” perspective, the panoramic views of the Alaska Range, and Denali National Park are amazing and the opportunity to see Denali from a tree-top platform with the boreal forest at your feet and Mt. Denali at your brow is unbeatable. The zipline portion of your day is 3 hours long, with 9 zips, 3 suspension bridges, and a tour guide to share knowledge of the local flora and fauna. Guests must be at least 10 years of age and between 80lbs - 270lbs.

4) Backcountry Rail & Float (June 1st-September 1st) - $395

We'll meet up with the rafting guides and board the train for a quick ride up river.  Then the guides will set up the rafts and get everyone in to float down the river. This section of the river is calm, allowing you to relax and soak up Alaska’s natural beauty in peace. Pass ferns that grow more than 8 feet (2 meters) tall, and spot wildlife like moose, eagles, the occasional bear and salmon. Pull over to one of Susitna River’s islets for lunch. Your guide opens a ‘Flag Stop Rail ’n Raft’ cooler filled with a gourmet lunch prepared by the Historic Talkeetna Roadhouse. Typical sandwich options include salmon, veggie, BLT, pulled pork and vegetarian. After lunch, drift back down the river for another 12 miles, and reach the shores of Talkeetna in the late afternoon.

5) Helicopter Alpine Hike (June 1st-September 10th) - $619 per person

Lift off in a helicopter as your soar through the Talkeetna Mountains, taking in breathtaking birds-eye view of wild backcountry wilderness before landing just beyond the boundaries of Denali National Park & Preserve.  Trek through pristine alpine tundra with an experienced local naturalist at your side. Once there, you’ll explore remote areas that are normally a full day’s hike away as you learn about the local flora and fauna. Your hike will present you with unforgettable views of the Alaska Range, tundra ridge lines, and spectacular Alaskan vistas. If you’re lucky, you'll catch a glimpses of Mt. Denali and some of the spectacular wildlife in their natural habitat. You’ll have a chance to relax on a hillside over looking the valley and enjoy your lunch.

*Please note that if the weather does not permit for this helicopter trip, then you will instead embark on an all-weather alternative to explore Talkeetna's lush old-growth forest with an experienced local naturalist. A refund in the difference will be issued.

6) Denali National Park Helicopter Picnic - $875 per person

Embark on a culinary experience into Denali National Park unlike any other in the world! Board an A-Star Helicopter and take off on a 30 minute flight into the Alaska Range soaring through extraordinary landscapes such as the Susitna Valley, Moose's Tooth (Mountain), Ruth Ice Fall, the Great Gorge, and more! Your destination is nestled inside Denali National Park within the Don Sheldon Amphitheater. Upon landing your pilot guide will lead you along a trail to the legendary Sheldon Mountain House - featured in publications such as National Geographic and Men's Journal. The Mountain House is perched on a towering nunatak (rock and ice outcrop) which sits on the Ruth Glacier, located at the base of Mt. Denali. Take in striking views while you enjoy an opulent picnic filled with traditional charcuterie featuring locally sourced meats and delicacies and craft beer or wine as you learn the history and geological features of the magnificent area surrounding you! Following your lunch you'll have additional photo opportunities with your loved ones before making a return 30 minute scenic flight to Talkeetna where you will then be driven back to Anchorage.
