They certainly exhibited your “kindness “ policy! I highly recommend them!Posted on KellieTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The Salmon Berry Travel and Tours group did an amazing job for my Iditarod & Aurora Trip 2025 (no fly-out on the tour I did, there is one that does). This was a little different than other years since the Iditarod Official Start was moved only about one week prior to the start of the trip. Salmon Berry (SB) took care of all the last minute travel adjustments to accommodate the move of the official start location (this would have been a nightmare had I needed to do this on my own). We did lose the Winter Train ride up to Fairbanks, but we were able to gain a Check Point location drive out which was cool. I had already decided to add additional days at the end of the tour (I wanted to fly round trip in/out of Anchorage) and was able to book the Winter Train back to Anchorage, so I didn’t mind the change. Some people in the group wished they had done the same; flying out of Fairbanks, most people said was kind-of a pain. If you do want to fly round trip from Anchorage and want to travel back via the Winter Train, just realize it only runs once a week southbound to Anchorage and plan accordingly (but there is a lot to keep you busy in Fairbanks while you wait). They were able to keep all the other fun activities mentioned in the original trip details though. Also, I did book to use their Winter Rental gear, which they allowed me to keep for all my additional days past the tour end date for no additional changes which was amazing and I sure used it. Our tour guide, John, was great; I actually injured my ankle on the second day of the trip, and John went out of his way to get me ice packs and ankles wraps so that I could still enjoy all the activities without too much pain. John was very knowledgeable of the area and was great at answering the multitude of questions we threw at him. Overall the tour was awesome and I highly recommend it if you ever make your way up to Alaska. ***One suggestion, there was a day that we had almost the entire day through until the evening on our own to do whatever; if you are not much into sightseeing like me, I suggest booking another tour during that time (I did another dog mushing tour which was amazing). John worked with us all to find additional tours and SB was great of helping us with that, but we were all trying to do it so last minute that a lot of the other tours booked up. I recommend looking over your SB Tour details and if there is a large free time spot, book another day-tour with SB ahead of time unless you like the free time to sightsee (some do…). Also, if you are adding additional days before or after the main tour, SB was great at helping people in the group add more day tours to their schedules. It was a great trip that I will remember for a lifetime.Posted on Laura NunezTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Salmon Berry was recommended to us by Brett Johnson, who was our guide in a prior Alaska adventure that me and my sister did almost two years ago. We had an amazing Aurora experience with Salmon Berry, we could not ask for a best tour. Kristin helped us with our reservation, which went really smooth and uneventful. All the places that we stayed at were clean and comfortable, we also enjoyed all the places where we ate. Our guide, Robbie, was awesome, gave us great information and explained everything that you need to know about the northern lights. He went above and beyond to make our experience special. All the adventures in this tour are excellent, my three favorites, Aurora, dog sliding and train trip. Of course the main purpose of this tour is to be able to see the Aurora, and we could have the opportunity to be welcomed in Frank and Mariam’s house, they have this beautiful cozy cabin in the forest outside Fairbanks, Frank is a professional photographer and you can spend a good amount of time learning and getting inspired. The dog sliding experience also 5*, and the train trip was relaxing and full of scenery, from Mount Denali to wild life. Important to highlight that Robbie is a great photographer which in my opinion was a big plus. Thank you Brett, thank you Kristin, thank you Robbie, thank you Frank and Mariam for helping us make one of our dream come true.Posted on brittany stutesTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Kayla and Brooks did an amazing job as our guide for the Mantanuska glacier excursion. They were very informative in the glacier and going to the glacier as well. Vi (don’t know spelling of name or if this was even correct) did an amazing job as well for our dog sledding excursion and very informative on information about the Iditarod and about the place we were going to do the dog sledding and that is as a really fun time mushing with the dogs.Posted on Devon NixonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Incredible experience at the Matanuska Glacier. Micah and Julie made sure we were comfortable and prepared for our amazing day. They showed up on time and gave us tons of information about the glacier. We were able to go into ice caves and through crevasses. I would highly recommend.Posted on Huit MontejoTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We just returned home from our Iditarod and Northern Lights getaway with Salmon Berry Tours. The experiences provided by Salmon Berry far exceeded any expectations we had. John, our guide, was knowledgeable about everything Alaska, Alaskan history, and the Iditarod. I have very specific dietary needs and restrictions and Salmon Berry went above and beyond to ensure that each meal always included safe food for me to eat. Communication was clear and forthcoming every step of the way. Salmon Berry delivered an unforgettable vacation! Highly recommend!Posted on Nohely PadillaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I am usually a DIY solo traveler, but I am so glad I opted for a group trip, especially in the Alaskan winter. Not only was Laura, our guide, extremely knowledgeable, but she did a phenomenal job working with our group. The 10 person group size was perfect and the 10 day itinerary for the Iditarod Race and Aurora Viewing was beautifully done. This was my lowest stress vacation full of the prefect blend of activities and downtime. Because of this I wholeheartedly recommend choosing Salmonberry Tours.
