Lou Mei

My name is Lou Mei and I am thrilled to be a glacier guide for Salmon Berry Tours! I grew up in Anchorage hiking, skiing, biking, and rock climbing. After high school I went to culinary school down in Oregon then lived in St. Louis, MO to intern as a vegan baker. I realized that Alaska is still home so I flew back up to go to school at Alaska Pacific University. In spring of 2022, I graduated with a BA in Outdoor Studies and I’ve gained lots of knowledge in edible plants of Alaska. I am a trained mountaineer, rock climber, avalanche rescue and glacier trekking guide. My passion is to share the beauty and love of nature in Alaska to everyone traveling from near and far!
