Glacier Guide
Hi! I’m Kayla from Big Lake, Alaska.
Being born and raised in Alaska, I’ve always been enthusiastic about hiking, kayaking, skiing, sledding, – anything to get out in nature! I grew up working on a commercial fishing set-net site on Kalgin Island, Cook Inlet, which is my favorite place in all of Alaska. I love living in rural places, and being around salmon provides an adventurous yet peaceful way of life, and a connection with nature that you can’t get anywhere else.
My other love is travel and collecting amazing experiences. I backpacked a good portion of Europe and lived in Northern Ireland for two years. Now I take trips as often as I can and love visiting my “other home” in N. Ireland!
I returned to Alaska in 2018 to attend the University of Alaska Fairbanks and then moved down to the big city of Anchorage to live out my dream of working in tourism! My favorite tour is Dog Sledding, because it explores the backwoods where I grew up and gives folks an “inside peek” of what life in this great state is really like. It’s so much fun to get to share that!
