Merrideth
Adventure Specialist
My name is Merrideth. I’m originally from Michigan, and moved to Alaska in 2002 to work a seasonal job in Denali National Park. I quickly fell in love with this beautiful state. When my job was done, I decided to try Tahoe, California, for the winter. By May, I was aching and ready to head back. As my mom said, she had never seen me as happy as when I was in Alaska. Because of this, I moved to Girdwood, and made it my home. During my years living in Alaska I have worked at a fly-in fishing lodge in the largest state park in Alaska (where the nearest road is hundreds of miles away), the quaint fishing town of Homer, the small ski town of Girdwood, and the “big” city of Anchorage.
When I’m not acting as an Adventure Specialist for Salmon Berry Travel and Tours, I love to get out and experience what Alaska has to offer. Most of the time you can find me paddleboarding down rivers, hiking, snowboarding, road tripping, and trying local food. If you ever need a recommendation on places to eat, I would be excited to share all of my local favorites!
Another thing I love about Alaska is the fact that I can walk out of my backdoor and enjoy nature that is unmatched by most. The vastness of the scenery is humbling and it provides a sense of calm. In all of my travels, Alaska is the only place where I have experienced this feeling. It’s a place where you can put your worries behind you and just be you. I want everyone to be able to see Alaska the way that I see it. I am happy to join the Salmon Berry team to help others create their dream Alaska adventure.
