Glacier Guide
Greetings!
Josh here, your friendly local Alaskan tour guide. Growing up in the Matanuska Valley north of Anchorage, I learned to eat blueberries off the bush, walk and ski, in that order. After graduating Palmer High in 2016 (Go, Moose!) I headed south to study Geology at the University of New Mexico. Five years and one BS later, I found myself drawn back to Alaska where, in search of meaningful occupation, I discovered Salmon Berry. Giving tours of the historic Independence Mine, located in my all-time favorite blueberry picking and skiing spot, Hatcher Pass, was a blast. Since then, I’ve learned a great deal about Alaskan history, explored new places like the Matanuska Glacier, and done novel things like dog mushing and crevasse rescue training. One of my favorite things about guiding with Salmon Berry is meeting people from all over the world and getting to share with them the wonders of Alaska, my home.
