Rosemary – Adventure Specialist in Alaska
Adventure Specialist
Hello! I’m Rosemary. I was born and raised in Fairbanks Alaska. I grew up cross-country skiing, canoeing, and exploring the vast Tanana Valley. After graduating I headed to Portland Oregon to pursue my degree in Community
Development. During these four years, and the next few as well, I returned to Alaska every summer to work as a tour director throughout our great state and the neighboring Yukon Territory. As an Alaskan woman, the itch for adventure is runs through my blood. After guiding in Alaska, I headed to Central America and Mexico where I spent about six years working in tourism, namely as a tour guide and a short stint as a business owner (cut short by the pandemic). I loved the raw beauty, fascinating history,
rich culture and inviting community. The region holds a dear spot in my heart, but I always new that Alaska and all of its wonder would eventually draw me back. I am happy to call Anchorage my home and have taken off running to explore all the beauty that South Central has to offer. As a Fairbanks girl at heart, the sheer magnitude of our mountains and easy access to glaciers and the ocean have captivated me.
My favorite spot in Alaska would have to be a tie between Denali National Park and Seward. As an interior kiddo, I hold fond memories of hiking up Healy Ridge and Savage River. As an adult in tourism, bus tours into the park searching for sights of bears and caribou and adrenaline pumping rafting tours down the Nenana River are second to none. Seward is an area I have come to love now living in South Central. The smell of the ocean, the quaintness of the sleepy town and the immense beauty when the sun finally decides to peak through the clouds is unbeatable. Even as an Alaskan, the beauty of our land continues to surprise me at every corner.
