Glenda
Adventure Specialist
My name is Glenda, and I’m thrilled to join the Salmon Berry Tours team as an Adventure Specialist. I’ve called Alaska home for most of my life, yet this beautiful state still finds a way to surprise and awe with its sheer beauty, exceptional wildlife, and special places.
I’ve been fortunate to travel all over Alaska, from Utqiaġvik on the banks of the Arctic Ocean to the grizzly bear-filled freshwater streams of Katmai National Park – and many gorgeous backcountry destinations in between. I’m proud to have put my degree in Travel Recreation, Hospitality Management, and Restaurant Resort Management to excellent use and have worked in many rewarding and exciting roles in offices based in Denali National Park, the small mountain town of Girdwood and – most recently – in Alaska’s largest city, Anchorage. I love how each area of Alaska is so unique, and although it’s hard to pick a favorite spot, I’m especially fond of the Prince William Sound. I’ve had the opportunity to explore this special area by boat, kayak, and foot, and I’ve even assisted research teams helping protect coastal birds, like the charismatic oyster catcher.
Aside from being an Adventure Specialist, my other favorite title is being Auntie Glenda to my beautiful niece and nephew. As no surprise, I love to travel, and last fall, I completed the 500-mile Camino de Santiago trail across Spain. On my Alaska bucket list are goals of visiting famed naturalist Dick Proenneke’s cabin in Lake Clark National Park as well as hiking the Chilkoot Pass. I look forward to learning what’s on your Bucket List and helping you reach your Alaska travel goals!
